Abstract Submission is Open!
Submit your abstract for consideration for the Extracellular Matrix Pharmacology Congress (ECM2024). The Scientific Committee encourages submissions that are innovative, challenge current treatment paradigms, and represent the latest advances in basic, clinical, and translational science. This is your opportunity to shape the scientific program and help ensure that the most relevant spectrum of topics is presented at the congress!
Regular Abstract Submissions will be accepted until Monday, 4 March 2024.
Late-Breaking Abstract Submissions will be accepted until Monday, 13 May 2024.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
Abstract Submission Requirements
Abstracts for the ECM2024 congress must be submitted online via the abstract submission site.
There is no limit to the number of abstracts an author may submit; however, an author may only serve as the presenting author on two submissions.
It is the author’s responsibility to designate a new presenter for presentation if conflicts arise.
Abstracts must have a complete status by the abstract deadline, or the abstract will not be considered for the ECM2024 scientific program.
Abstract Character, Structure, and Formatting Guidelines
Abstracts are limited to 3,600 characters (without spaces).
Abstracts should be submitted using the abstract template. Download the template on the abstract submission site.
Abstracts should be structured as: Introduction & Aim, Methods, Results and Conclusion.
Introduction & Aim: The abstract should begin with a sentence or two explaining the clinical (or other) importance of the study question. This section should also state the precise aim or study question addressed in the project.
Methods: Methods should be concise and include the design, patient selection (key inclusion/exclusion criteria), description of variables, and most important statistical test.
Results: This section should describe baseline characteristics of participants followed by primary and secondary outcomes. Report estimates of associations including appropriate measures of variability and uncertainty (e.g., odds ratios with confidence intervals). If authors are including tables/figures, please avoid duplicating information that is provided in the table/figures.
Conclusion: This section should provide only findings of the study directly supported by the results. Authors may state its clinical or future research implications. Give equal emphasis to positive and negative findings of equal scientific merit.
Tables (characters included in count): A maximum of 1 table can be included with the following criteria: Combined maximum number of columns: 12 / rows: 20.
Graphs: A maximum of 1 graph can be included.
Abstract Writing Standards
Abstracts must be written in English.
Do not enter author information into the abstract body; doing so negates a blind review.
Do not include the abstract title, references, or grant support in the abstract body.
Standard abbreviations may be used without definition. Nonstandard abbreviations must be placed in parentheses after the first use of the abbreviation.
When submitting your abstract, the ECM2024 Abstract Scientific Committee recommends using language that is neutral, nonjudgmental, and free from stigma.
Note: The Abstract Scientific Committee may modify the format to fit the look and feel of the media on which it is displayed or distributed.
Abstract Selection Process
All abstracts successfully submitted are peer-reviewed through a blind review process.
The final decision regarding selection and programming of any abstract will be made by the Abstract Scientific Committee.
Abstracts may be selected for oral presentation, rapid-oral presentation, poster presentation, or not selected.
Abstract acceptance status will be sent via email to the designated presenting author in early April.
Publication of Abstracts
All accepted abstract titles will be published in the final program.
All accepted abstracts will be published in the ECM2024 Abstract Book, available exclusively for ECM2024 congress participants.
