Fibroblasts are far from a uniform cell population, comprising diverse subtypes with distinct origins, phenotypes, and functions. Understanding this heterogeneity is key to unraveling how specific fibroblast populations drive tissue remodeling, fibrosis, and disease progression across different organs and pathological contexts.
